Our regular tour season has ended for 2007. Thanks to everyone who came out and braved the heat this summer to ghost hunt with us!

Just because the regular season is over doesn't mean we're done with tours! Keep checking our blog over the next few weeks for upcoming special tours!

Ghost Hunting Byrd High School Juniors

Shreveport Spirit Tours are a great option when it comes to weekend fun. Nina Munoz, J.P. Swearingen, Emily Smith and Victoria Johnson had a blast ghost hunting and absorbing some Shreveport History.

Shreveport Spirit Tours depart from the Confederate Memorial in front of the Caddo Parish Courthouse at 501 Texas Street on Fridays at 1:30 and 6PM and Saturdays at 10:30AM, 1:30PM and 6:00PM.

Fun history fact: Shreveport wasn't always called Shreveport! For a few years it was called Shreve Town. And it was also a bit rough around the edges at that time. One refined lady from back east called it Ratsborough!

Fun for Locals and Out of Towners!

Digital cameras are welcome on the Shreveport Spirit Tours! You have many opportunities for great photos with all the lovely architecture and public art we encounter and you may even capture a ghost orb.

501 Texas Street

Shreveport Spirit Tours depart from the Confederate Memorial in front of the Caddo Parish Courthouse at 501 Texas Street. This statue of a young Confederate soldier tops the memorial. It was erected in 1905.

Directions to The Caddo Parish Courthouse

Shreveport Spirit Tours depart from the Caddo Parish Courthouse at 501 Texas Street. The courthouse is easy to find once you remember Shreveport doesn't have a "Main Street" because Texas Street serves that purpose.

From Louisiana Boardwalk:
Turn LEFT onto TRAFFIC STREET for 1 block
Turn LEFT onto TEXAS STREET for 1 mile
End at 501 TEXAS STREET Caddo Parish Courthouse. Meet at the Confederate Memorial on the north side of the courthouse.

From downtown Shreveport at the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Visitor Center:
Travel north on SPRING STREET for 2 blocks
Turn LEFT onto TEXAS STREET for 3 blocks
End at 501 TEXAS STREET Caddo Parish Courthouse. Meet at the Confederate Memorial on the north side of the courthouse.

From the casinos in downtown Shreveport:
Travel south on CLYDE FANT PARKWAY
Turn RIGHT onto MILAM STREET for 2 blocks
Turn RIGHT onto SPRING STREET for 1 block
Turn LEFT onto TEXAS STREET for 3 blocks
End at 501 TEXAS STREET Caddo Parish Courthouse. Meet at the Confederate Memorial on the north side of the courthouse.

Pictured above is the steeple of the First United Methodist Church located in the West Edge area of downtown Shreveport. This graceful Neo-Classical Revival style building is one of the many featured points of interest on the Shreveport Spirit Tour.

Shade of the Live Oaks

The Shreveport Spirit Tour is an easy 90 minute walk. We travel about a mile at a slow pace over easy terrain. The main part of the tour takes place in the West Edge area of downtown Shreveport. There's lots of shade covering our trail.

Soft Opening

There are plans for a big grand opening in a week or so but for this Memorial Day weekend we will open softly... all the better to hear the spirits! Meet you under the lovely live oak trees at the Caddo Parish Courthouse.

Katee Fontane, one of the owners of Tour de Shreveport, looks for paranormal activity in a Shreveport cemetery.
